Tajikistan Will Present the Country’s Global Initiatives at the COP-28 Conference in Dubai

From November 30 to December 12, 2023, the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change will be held in Dubai, UAE, reports the press service of the Committee for Environmental Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan.

In accordance with the approved provisions, the Conference of the Parties to this Convention is held once a year with the participation of heads of state and a wide range of representatives of member countries, heads of international and regional organizations, civil society and other interested parties.

It is worth noting that the Republic of Tajikistan ratified the UN Climate Change Convention in 1998 and the Paris Agreement in 2017. Also, within the framework of this conference, in order to present the policies pursued by member countries towards fulfilling their obligations to the Convention, various events, meetings and meetings will be organized, pavilions of countries and organizations will be organized. It is planned that the National Pavilion of the Republic of Tajikistan within the framework of the conference will work from November 30 to December 12 in Dubai in order to familiarize and present the global initiatives of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon, on climate change, protection of glaciers and water resources, attracting the attention of the world community to high the republic’s vulnerability to the effects of climate change, the need for greater investment representation to adapt key sectors of the country’s economy to climate change and strengthening regional and international cooperation on climate change issues.
