Azerbaijan and Tajikistan Discussed Intensification of Trade Ties

BAKU, /Trend/ – Azerbaijan and Tajikistan discussed the intensification of trade ties, Trend reported on Monday.

According to the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), AZPROMO Executive Director Yusif Abdullayev met with the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan Jamshed Jumahonzoda.

At the meeting, Yusif Abdullayev informed about the directions of the agency’s activities, about the work carried out to attract non-oil investments into the country’s economy.

The parties exchanged views on the importance of the event “Exhibition of SPECA Countries: Regional Cooperation for Sustainable Development”, held on a special initiative of Azerbaijan within the framework of SPECA Week. Views were exchanged on the prospects for expanding bilateral economic cooperation, including trade exchanges, in this direction there was The activities of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tajikistan to Azerbaijan were highly appreciated.

In turn, Jamshed Kumakhonzade said that the organization he represented is the largest in Tajikistan, provided detailed information about the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and spoke about upcoming changes in the law regulating its activities. The Chairman of the Chamber noted the high level of organization of the SPECA exhibition, and noted that this initiative serves as an important platform for expanding partnerships between countries.

The meeting highlighted the activities of existing joint ventures, in particular a plant for the production of composite pipes, which opened in Dushanbe in 2021. In conclusion, Jamshed Kumakhonzoda invited Azerbaijani companies, organized by AZPROMO, to take an active part in exhibitions held in Tajikistan.
