Based on the facts of illegal transactions with land, 3 thousand 696 criminal cases were initiated and 49 thousand 151.72 hectares of land were restored to their original state.
The report says that following the meeting, the country’s Prosecutor General Yusuf Rahmon gave specific instructions to officials to correct shortcomings and strengthen prosecutorial supervision, and appropriate decisions were made.
However, what specific decisions were made in the publication is not reported.
As experts note, the allocation of land in Tajikistan is considered one of the main points of corruption crimes.
Every year in Tajikistan, dozens of officials are caught taking bribes precisely when allocating land plots, but most of them are released from serious criminal liability by paying symbolic fines.
