Officials of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan discussed border issues


The head of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov met with the chairman of the Sughd region of Tajikistan Rajabboy Ahmadzoda and the khokim of the Ferghana region of Uzbekistan Khairullo Bozarov. This was reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Akylbek Zhaparov emphasized the importance of interregional cooperation and similar meetings for “strengthening peace and stability in the border lands.” He stated that Kyrgyzstan is ready for an open dialogue on all aspects of the Kyrgyz-Tajik and Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations.

“In this context, it is important to complete the process of delimitation and demarcation of sections of the state border between our countries in the spirit of mutual trust as soon as possible. I am convinced that the final solution of border issues will contribute to the further strengthening of fraternal relations, stability and security in the Central Asian region,” the head of the Cabinet said.

Earlier it was reported that over the past year and a half, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan agreed on 102 kilometers of the project line of the state border.
