A Citizen of Tajikistan Was Sought for 21 Years for Murder in the Chelyabinsk Region

Genetic testing helped to expose the criminal.

On February 10, 2002, a citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan attacked a local resident during the day. The villain wanted to rob the man. He hit his victim in the head and wounded him in the neck. The Chelyabinsk resident died.

The foreigner managed to hide from justice for 21 years. But the investigators of the regional Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee did not forget about the case. Operatives of the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs also continued the search. Finally, we managed to get on the trail of the killer. As the press service of the Investigative Directorate for the Chelyabinsk Region said, the genotype of a previously convicted citizen of Tajikistan, born in 1981, was obtained.

“A genotyposcopic examination of the items seized in 2002 at the crime scene was carried out, thanks to the identification of a genetic profile, the involvement of the suspect in the crime was confirmed,” the regional Investigative Committee clarified.

The crime was solved 21 years later, and the suspect was detained. The migrant, who continued to live in Russia all this time, was charged under the article “Murder”. The Investigative Committee showed photographs from the investigative experiment. The foreigner confessed everything and showed how he struck.

The court sent him to a pre-trial detention center, the investigation continues.
