Turkmenistan and Tajikistan Exchange Views on Bilateral Relations


AKIPRESS.COM – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov on June 15 met with Ambassador of Tajikistan to Turkmenistan Farrukh Homiddin Sharifzoda, who is completing his diplomatic mission in the country, the Foreign Ministry says.

The Minister expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for his contribution to the development of Turkmen-Tajik relations. The sides discussed topical issues and prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan on issues of political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian interaction.

Meredov stated that bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan are at a high level of partnership. The importance of the state visit of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Tajikistan, which took place in May this year, was emphasized.

The Ambassador expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for assistance in the implementation of his diplomatic mission aimed at expanding ties between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan.
