The Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan, Sherali Kabir, proposed the creation of joint industrial zones with the Russian Federation. SNG.Today reports this with reference to the press service of the Tajik ministry.
This was discussed during a meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, which took place at the Innoprom-2023 exhibition in Yekaterinburg. It was proposed to implement priority projects in the mining, textile and food industries, as well as to create joint industrial zones.
Kabir stressed that the Tajik government is taking steps to attract foreign investors to double the country’s industrial production in the next five years. The participation of Russian investments and experts in the creation of technology parks in Tajikistan, according to the minister, will play a key role in further deepening cooperation between the two countries.
At the exhibition, the minister also met with Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Oleg Bocharov and the management of BTK Group. During these meetings, issues of preparatory work for the creation of a textile complex in the city of Kulyab were discussed.
