The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan confirmed the country’s participation in the “Moscow format” in Kazan. The press service of the department reports this.
According to the information, one of the representatives of the republic will attend the meeting on the Afghan settlement, which will take place on September 29, 2023.
Earlier it was reported that the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Afghan government, formed by the Taliban movement* (an organization banned in the Russian Federation), Amir Khan Muttaqi, will also take part in the event.
As Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated, Russia expects the “Moscow format” in Kazan to talk about overcoming the difficulties of Afghanistan.
In turn, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova reported that during the meeting it is planned to discuss the current situation in Afghanistan, issues of inter-Afghan reconciliation, ensuring regional security and post-conflict reconstruction of the country.
