Tajikistan and the UK Signed New Contracts Worth Over $370 Million


23 new documents have been signed between the two countries.

23 new documents were signed between Tajikistan and the UK within the framework of the Investment Forum, which was held in London on March 28-29. Information about this was posted on its website on March 31 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan

The total amount of signed documents amounted to over $370 million.

It is noted that such a forum in the history of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and the UK was held for the first time. More than 250 heads and representatives of ministries and departments of the country, businessmen and investors of the two countries, heads and representatives of companies and corporations of the world took part in it.

The Tajik delegation, in particular, was represented by the Chairman of the Committee on Investments and State Property Management Saadi Kodirzoda, Ministers of Agriculture Kurbon Hakimzoda, Energy and Water Resources Daler Juma, Industry and New Technologies Sherali Kabir and Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Khokim Kholikzoda.

The purpose of the Forum was presented as an opportunity to strengthen and develop economic and investment cooperation through the creation of an open dialogue between businessmen and investors. As part of the event, bilateral meetings of official delegations and businessmen took place in the B2B (“business with business”) and B2G (“business with the state”) formats.

Tajikistan at the Forum organized an exhibition of the country’s export potential, where industry, mining, agriculture, tourism and banking services were presented, and spoke about the investment climate and investment opportunities in various industries.

A cultural and entertainment program was also organized in honor of the Navruz holiday.
