Tajikistan and South Korea discussed prospects for economic cooperation

South Korea and the Sughd region of Tajikistan discussed the prospects for cooperation in the agricultural and industrial sectors, the press service of the head of the region reports.

The discussion took place during the meeting of the chairman of Sogd, Rajabboy Ahmadzoda, with a member of the commission Tajikistan – Korea on economic relations, Gon Chong Hoon, and his delegation.

In particular, the parties considered issues of cooperation, attracting capital to the economy of the republic to create joint ventures and land development, as well as attracting labor to South Korea.

At the meeting, the head of the region drew attention to the fact that new enterprises are built annually in Sughd. In this context, it was emphasized that over the first half of this year, industrial products worth more than 12 billion somoni were produced.

It was also noted that Tajikistan and South Korea can expand cooperation not only in the agricultural and industrial sectors, but Seoul can also contribute to the implementation of investment projects.

At the same time, the establishment of cooperation in the cultivation of agricultural crops, in particular, corn, was called beneficial.

In turn, Gong Chong Hoon noted that the Republic of Korea is ready to contribute to the implementation of small and large projects.

It should be noted that in recent years, relations between the two republics have been improving in all areas, including in the field of migration.

However, South Korea is now delaying the allocation of quotas for workers from Tajikistan. The reason is that our labor migrants violated the rules of staying in this country in the very first organized recruitment.
