Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan have signed a draft description of the disputed section of the border, Sputnik Tajikistan news agency reports today, August 7, citing the head of the State Committee for Land Management and Geodesy of the Republic of Tatarstan, Orif Khodjazoda.
According to the document, a section with a length of 101.86 km was demarcated.
“In total, there were seven meetings between the topographic commissions of the two countries,” Khojazoda said on this occasion.
Earlier, the head of the Sughd region, Rajabboy Ahmadzoda, met with the plenipotentiary representative of the President of Kyrgyzstan in the Batken region, Abdikarim Alimbaev.
It is reported that Akhmadzoda and Alimbaev expressed their readiness to develop economic and social partnership and once again stressed that the issue of border demarcation will be resolved exclusively through diplomacy with full understanding and mutual consent of the parties.
Representatives of the two countries stressed that existence in an atmosphere of good neighborliness, peace and friendship is the only priority for local residents.
