Tajik Serviceman Fires 2 Shots Accidentally. Situation on Border With Tajikistan Stable – Border Guard Service


AKIPRESS.COM – Two shots were fired on the territory of Tajikistan, on Plotina border outpost of the Border Troops of the State National Security Committee of Tajikistan on July 23, the Border Guard Service of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The same day representatives of the Border Guard Services of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan held talks. The Tajik side reported a serviceman of the Border Troops of Tajikistan fired two shots accidentally during unloading of the rifle. No one was harmed.

The sides discussed the order of organization of border protection on all disputed sections and the necessity to continue outreach work with population of border areas to prevent spread of fake information leading to conflicts.

Immediately after the talks, the head of the border outpost of the Kyrgyz Border Guard Service met with a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, who took a video of the shots and explained a real situatin to him. Yet, the citizen shared a video in social media.

The Border Guard Service said citizens may turn to the border authorities to clarify the information about situation in line with the legislation and asked citizens to refrain from spread of fake information.

The situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border is stable on July 24.
