They denied rumors that the rector had been removed from his post.
The Russian-Tajik Slavic University (RTSU) confirmed the information that the son of the rector of the university, Fayzullo Mashrab Kurbonali, was a participant in a road traffic accident (accident), which resulted in the death of the famous singer Nekruz Niyozov.
“It’s true that his son got into an accident and was detained,” a teacher and press secretary of RTSU told Asia-Plus.
At the same time, he denied rumors that the rector was removed from his post for this. According to the press secretary, the rector comes to work almost every day, and reports of his resignation are unfounded.
At the same time, for several days now, neither he nor his secretary have answered calls from journalists.
Due to an accident in which 27-year-old Tajik performer Nekruz Niyozov died, two participants in the incident were detained.
One of them is the 18-year-old son of the rector of RTSU, Faizullo Komyob Mashrab, and the other is 19-year-old Akhtamzoda Oyatullo Khushbakht. Both are students of this university.
According to preliminary data from the capital’s Department of Internal Affairs, it was the car of the rector’s son that hit the singer after a collision with another car.
The accident occurred on September 21 at approximately 22:30 on D. Khalkho Street, in front of the building of the National Food Inspection Center (referred to as the Bomi Jahon restaurant).
Niyozov received serious injuries, as a result of which he died on the morning of September 22 at the Shifobakhsh hospital.
According to the singer’s relatives, he was helped by a taxi driver who witnessed the accident: he took him to the hospital, but Nekruz could not be saved. Two participants in the accident fled the scene.
