On August 7, 2023, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the UN, Jonibek Hikmat, met with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, the newly appointed Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Kakha Imnadze, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan reports.
At the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged views on the prospects for developing cooperation between Tajikistan and UNRCCA, discussed water and climate issues, maintaining peace and security in the region, in particular the situation in Afghanistan.
Also during the meeting, the importance and necessity of further strengthening cooperation within the framework of the “Dushanbe water process” and “Dushanbe process to combat terrorism and its financing” was noted.
