Parliaments of Tajikistan and China Signed a Cooperation Agreement


Rustam Emomali, Chairman of the Upper House of the Parliament of Tajikistan, and Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, signed an agreement on cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries.

Report informs referring to TASS, the press service of the Parliament of Tajikistan said.

“After the completion of negotiations between the delegations of the upper house of the Tajik parliament and the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, an agreement on cooperation was signed,” the report says. The parties expressed confidence that the document will help strengthen close and trusting interstate relations, create the necessary legal conditions for the development of trade and economic ties and other areas of cooperation.

The interlocutors discussed cooperation within the UN, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Conference on Cooperation and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, as well as within other regional and international organizations, focusing on countering terrorism, transnational organized crime, cybercrime and other aspects. Emomali invited Zhao Leji to visit Tajikistan, the invitation was accepted.
