Locals can’t afford it: a tourist from the Russian Federation visited Tajikistan and showed meat prices
September 27 – GLAS. A Russian traveler decided to compare meat prices in Russia and Tajikistan. It turned out that the situation is completely ambiguous
The Russian has traveled almost the entire CIS. Not long ago he visited Tajikistan. In the republic, he looked at the local market and found out how much meat costs there. In his personal blog “TrueStory Travel” on the Zen portal, he compared prices with Russian ones.
It turned out that you can easily find any meat on the shelves. There is also pork there. The blogger was very surprised by this, because almost all the inhabitants of the country profess Islam.
However, this is not the main surprise. The man was amazed at the prices. It turned out that all meat in Tajikistan costs more than in Russian stores.
“At the same time, the level of wages in Tajikistan is much lower… So it turns out that the average resident of Tajikistan cannot afford to buy meat,” he said.
The blogger learned that the most popular meat in Tajik markets is beef. For 1 kg. asking from 65 somoni. In rubles it is about 600 rubles. Lamb can be bought for 75-80 somoni (700 rubles).
You can also find lard on the shelves. Most often it is imported from Russia. They ask for it at the market for 200 somoni, which translates to 1,800 rubles.
