The Kazakh authorities decided to revive the tradition of celebrating the Republic Day, which was last
celebrated in the country 13 years ago.

Celebrated today, October 25, the date has regained the status of a national holiday, which was
abolished in 2009.

The initiative to revive the tradition was personally made by the President of the Republic Kassym-
Zhomart Tokayev in June of this year, and in September the corresponding amendments were adopted.

By the same law, Independence Day changed its status from national to state
