Faridun Saliev, press attache of the Tajikistan Football Federation, spoke about the participation of Russian football clubs and national teams in international competitions.
“We were invited by the Football Association of Belarus. For our team, the upcoming tournament is a stage of preparation for the qualifying round of the 2025 Asian Cup (U-17), which will be held in the fall of next year. U-15 teams are participating in Minsk. Football is beyond politics! We believe that Russian teams and clubs should participate in tournaments under the auspices of UEFA and FIFA,” Saliev said in a conversation with a “Championship” correspondent.
Let us remind you that the Russian U14 football team, led by Vladimir Volchek, will take part in the UEFA Development Tournament, which is scheduled for the period from October 3 to 8. It will take place in Minsk, Belarus. National teams of Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will also take part in this competition.
It should be noted that several countries, including Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia, have previously announced their intention to boycott matches with Russian football players.
