Evgeny Kuyvashev Agreed on Cooperation With the Gorno-badakhshan Autonomous Region in Dushanbe

Governor of the Sverdlovsk region Evgeny Kuyvashev in Dushanbe agreed on cooperation with the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region. The agreement was signed by the Tajik side on November 28 by the regional chairman, Alisher Khudoberdi Mirzonabot.

“First of all, we are talking about interaction in the industrial sphere. Industrial development is impossible without education and without training. Now we set ourselves the goal of making Yekaterinburg the student capital of Russia; we intend to create the most attractive and comfortable conditions for studying in the region. I am sure that this will open up great opportunities not only for Russian youth, but also for citizens of Tajikistan,” said Evgeny Kuyvashev.

During the working meeting, the regional heads also discussed the supply of Ural equipment to Tajikistan for geological exploration, energy development and modernization of transport infrastructure. To organize productive cooperation, during the visit of the Ural delegation to Tajikistan, a meeting of representatives of enterprises of both sides was organized in the “contact exchange” format.

Tourism is also an important vector of cooperation. The Sverdlovsk region is ready to receive guests as part of business, industrial, and health tourism programs. In turn, the exceptional natural landscapes of the Pamirs provide an opportunity for active and ecological recreation.

“The Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region has unlimited opportunities for the development of tourism. The unique nature of the region, unique mountain landscapes, high-mountain glaciers, lakes, thermal springs, location on the border of several states – all this makes the region attractive to foreign tourists. Mountaineering, ecotourism, autotourism, routes along the Great Silk Road can become important channels for attracting investment,” said Alisher Khudoberdi Mirzonabot.

In addition, possible areas of interaction include training highly qualified specialists, including teachers, at the Ural State Pedagogical University.
