Ecovolenters Held the “dushanbe-green City” Campaign in the Capital

On September 7, eco-volunteers of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan held an event called “Dushanbe-Green City” in the Great Kabir Park of the capital, the press service of the Committee reports.

The action was carried out by eco-volunteers of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in honor of the Independence Day of the Republic of Tajikistan and on the eve of two important high-level events – the fifth consultative meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia and the next meeting of the Council of Heads of State – founders of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, which will take place in the capital on September 14-15.

The Committee’s environmental volunteers, students of higher educational institutions of the country, observed the condition of the park, its cleanliness and attitude towards the environment on the part of residents and guests.

After the observations, volunteers conducted surveys of vacationers in the park about the goals of the “Dushanbe – Green City” campaign and distributed information bulletins on the topics “Waste Management,” “Harm of Plastic Waste to the Environment and Health,” and “Life Without Plastic.”

Carrying out such promotions and distributing newsletters among residents and guests of the capital helps to increase the level of environmental awareness and responsibility of the population.
