The Tajik-Azerbaijani Investment Forum will be held in Dushanbe on April 4 this year as part of the state visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Tajikistan, the State Committee for Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tatarstan reports.
“The purpose of the Forum is to search for investment opportunities in the fields of industry, energy, tourism, transport and export development,” the report says.
The forum is expected to be attended by more than 150 participants from both sides, including heads and officials of ministries and departments, entrepreneurs, investors and representatives of companies and enterprises in various fields of economic activity in Tajikistan and Azerbaijan.
Within the framework of the Forum, participants will be presented with investment opportunities in the fields of tourism, industry, energy, services and other areas.
Signing of new documents on cooperation between the public and private sectors of the two countries is expected.
According to the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Tajik-Azerbaijani trade turnover in 2022 amounted to $6.2 million, which is 0.1% of the total foreign trade turnover of Tajikistan.
About 95% of bilateral trade is accounted for by the import of Azerbaijani goods by Tajikistan.
Recall that in early April, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov is also expected to pay a state visit to Tajikistan.
As Asia-Plus was informed in the press service of the head of state, the visit is scheduled for April 10-11.
On the eve of the visit of the Turkmen President, the first meeting of the Business Council of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, as well as a business forum of entrepreneurs of the two countries, will be held.
