A Meeting of Government Delegations of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Tajikistan Was Held


Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – 22 July this year Dushanbe hosted a meeting of government delegations of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Tajikistan.

At a meeting chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, the state of implementation of the agreements reached at a high level was analyzed in detail.

Tajikistan is a close neighbor of Uzbekistan, a time-tested friend, a reliable strategic partner and ally.

Friendly and trusting relations established between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon are a solid basis for deepening bilateral relations with a completely new development dynamics.

As noted at the meeting, the leaders of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan set the task for the governments of the two countries to fill the agenda with new projects.

The parties noted that this task can be solved by joint efforts.

Mutual trade indicators are growing. The leaders of our countries have set a specific task to increase its volume to $1 billion in the future.

At the meeting, it was reported that practical work had begun on the creation of an international border trade zone “Uzbekistan-Tajikistan” at the checkpoint “Oybek” – “Fotekhabad”.

The delegations also noted the importance of expanding industrial cooperation, further developing mutually beneficial relations in the fields of agriculture and water management, energy, and consistently deepening cooperation in transport and logistics issues.
