A resident of Tajikistan wanted for desertion was detained in the Saratov region. This was reported by the prosecutor’s office of the Saratov region.
We are talking about a 26-year-old citizen of Tajikistan who is wanted for criminal prosecution for desertion. In his native republic, the man had the position of company commander and the rank of senior lieutenant. According to foreign law enforcement officers, in August 2022, after vacation, he did not report to his unit and left for the Russian Federation. His actions are qualified under Part 2 of Art. 375 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan (evasion from military service).
Police officers detained the offender in July 2023 while crossing the Russian-Kazakh border in the Ozinsky district. There are no obstacles to his extradition to a foreign state. Now the man is in custody, and a corresponding conclusion has been prepared on the possibility of his extradition to law enforcement agencies of Tajikistan.
