Rescuers of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of Tajikistan have completed an operation to rescue a citizen of Belarus who fell in the mountains.

“On the evening of July 21, after complex search and rescue activities that lasted for two days, the rescuers of the CoES transported the injured climber, a 36-year-old citizen of Belarus, to Dushanbe by helicopter,” Umeda Yusufi, head of the CoES press center, told Asia-Plus.

According to her, at the Ayni airport, the climber was met by the doctors of the Military Hospital of the CoES and by an ambulance he was taken to the Istiklol hospital in the capital. “The condition of the climber is assessed as medium-heavy,” she said.

Yusufi recalled that the rescuers, having arrived on July 20 at the glade of Moskvin, Lyakhshsky district, on an aircraft of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Tatarstan, reached the place where the climber fell on foot, having overcome 10 km. On the spot, they gave him first aid, transferred him to a special stretcher, fixing him, and began to climb to the helipad.
