There are promising areas of cooperation between Baku and Dushanbe.
Tajik Ambassador to Azerbaijan Rustam Soli told Trend about this.
“There is an intensive development of cooperation between various departments of Tajikistan and Azerbaijan on a bilateral basis. It covers such areas as agriculture, industry, energy, education and tourism,” the ambassador said.
He noted that, in particular, during a recent visit by the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan, Sherali Kabir, to the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park, cooperation with Azerbaijan in the development of the aluminum industry, as well as the supply of petroleum coke to Tajikistan, was discussed.
Regarding relations in the field of education, the ambassador noted that nine Tajik students are educated at ADA University. In addition, students from Tajikistan study at the Heydar Aliyev Military Institute.
Speaking about the trade turnover between the two countries, Rustam Soli noted the need to increase it, as there is a wide range of relevant goods for mutual trade.
“In particular, such prospects exist in the field of agriculture and the energy sector,” the ambassador said.
Recall that, according to the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan in January-May 2023 amounted to $1.349 million.
