Sheikh Zayed Falcon Release Programme is a conservation programme that began 30 years ago and aims at rewilding falcons. Under this programme, the UAE released 52 Falcons in the wild in Kazakhstan for sustaining the species. In a report by the National News, it was mentioned that the Environment Agency Abu Dhabi which supervises the programme stated that out of these falcons, 23 were peregrine falcons and 29 were saker falcons that were released on May 5 and 6. The birds were released in the Karaganda region, which is the key region for migrating falcons.
